
The history of the UAB begins on 6 June 1968, when the decree on the creation of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) is officially promulgated. One month later the first four faculties are created: Philosophy and Arts, Medicine, Science and Economics.
After 50 years of existence, the UAB has consolidated amongst the 200 best universities in the world within the main university rankings.
In the framework of Depart Project UAB is involved as Research Center for Migration: a specific a research unit specialized in social studies related to migration that has a large experience in European projects.
ASOCOLGI is a non-profit organization with statutory and associative purposes to promote the participation and socio-cultural integration of the migrant community, especially the Colombian community in Catalonia and mainly in Girona.
To achieve its goals, the association provides advice and assistance to newly arrived people through a reception service, giving them autonomy to know their rights and duties in the host country, promoting spaces for participation and awareness of human rights, culture of peace, gender, teaching cultural traditions through activities (dance, music, documentaries, talks, workshops, gastronomy, exhibitions…) and developing and executing plans for intercultural education, participation and socio-political integration. Within the framework of a comprehensive strategy, ASOCOLGI maintains a direct relationship with other social, cultural and public administration groups, legal groups, civil society and works in a network to contribute to the empowerment of the associative fabric.
The Girona City Council (Ajuntament de Girona in Catalan) is the institution in charge of the local administration of the Spanish municipality of Gerona, in the autonomous community of Catalonia.
Since 1979, its political leaders have been chosen by universal suffrage by residents with the right to vote, in elections held every four years. From 2011 to 2016 its mayor was Carles Puigdemont (CiU), who left office due to his appointment as president of the Government of Catalonia. Since March 2016 the mayor is Marta Madrenas, also from CiU.

Associazione Ares 2.0 was founded in 2016 with the desire to transfer the experience of its founders on activities with a high social content and aims. Over the past 20 years, the members of the association have in fact carried out over 200 projects of economic and social research, institutional communication, training, consultancy on the preparation of policy tools, as well as assistance in the management of complex projects. This long operational experience of the members is the basis and represent the solid basement of the association. It has started working thanks to the skills and personal commitment of this group of engaged professionals and their possible professional network. The activity polan of the organization approved in 2018 includes a strong social commitment on five macro areas: migrants and social inclusion, economic legality of labor, citizenship rights and individual liberties, poverty and welfare; young people and future.
Council of Refugee Women in Bulgaria is a non-government organization, founded in 2003 by nine women from refugee background. It has been formed to actively serve as a bridge between the host society and refugees and asylum seekers, to support the rights of the latter through advocacy in the process of their adaptation and integration into Bulgarian society.
The team of Social Workers, Cultural Mediators and Psychologists actively work to empower refugees and asylum seekers through psychosocial support, humanitarian aid, accompaniment to various institutions and translations in place, group activities, including raising awareness about GBV and providing information about local and state government, institutions and their mechanisms, as well as the works of the healthcare system. CRWB takes part in the DEPART project and has already had experience in the assembly of a Refugee Advisory Board, which has been funded by the UNHCR. The organization has prior experience in the execution of trainings for self-advocacy and empowerment of refugees and asylum seekers.
Piraeus is a port city within the Athens urban area (“Greater Athens”), in the Attica region of Greece. It is located in the Athens Riviera, eight kilometres southwest of Athens’ city centre, along the east coast of the Saronic Gulf.
The municipality of Piraeus and four other suburban municipalities form the regional unit of Piraeus, sometimes called the Greater Piraeus area, with a total population of 448,997. At the 2011 census, Piraeus had a population of 163,688 people, making it the fifth largest municipality in Greece and the second largest (after the municipality of Athens) within the Athens urban area.
Oborishte is an urban district located in the centre of the Bulgarian capital Sofia. As of 2006 the population is 36,000.
A large part of the population is engaged in government and administration. There are several ministries and other important institutions including the Council of Ministers, the Ministry of Regional and Public Development, the Ministry of Education, the Social Ministry, the Energetics Committee, the Capital Municipality, the Parliament building, the State Archive Bureau and many embassies and others.
Three institutions for higher education are located in the district: the National Academy of Arts, the State Academy of Music and the Military Academy Georgi Sava Rakovski.
